About
Taylor Ward is an emerging artist based on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
“My work is a response to personal memories, human connection, and emotion. I allow each artwork to unfold intuitively, with every layer revealing more of its story. Each piece holds an edgy tenderness, surreal yet easily understood. We are all connected, and we can all be understood.”
Born in a rural mining town, Taylor’s creativity was a way to express herself and maintain a sense of identity. Largely self-taught, she began pursuing her practice full-time in 2023.
Working intuitively with acrylics, oils and oil sticks, Taylor builds each painting through layers of colour, texture and mark-making. Her works balance chaos with harmony, allowing each piece to evolve organically until the story it holds feels complete.
Her work invites viewers to slow down and reconnect with true feelings, forgotten memories and find beauty in the tension.
Existing between abstract and subtle surrealism, her work is both deeply personal and universally understood.
